In an average, about 10,000 of human lives are lost each year due to casualties in earthquakes. In this scenario, our major objective is to engineer the seismically safe & durable
infrastructures in pursuit of development of safer commmunities and nation as a whole. Regarding the seismic safety, earthquake preparedness is the vital key in prevention.
We have envisioned to achieve better earthquake preparedness by means of strengthening of the existing vulnerable buildings and other structures. Also, application of latest availaible technologies and performance based design approaches to the upcoming, new projects is our major goal.
The fact is, Nepal itself lies at the boundary of seismically active himalayan belt at its northern side and witnessed shakings of moderate to severe ones. Better earthquake preparedness could be the best way to mitigate the deadly aftermath in case of major seismic events !
